What are your hours?

North Country ARTS galleries keep different hours depending on location. The Shirt Factory Gallery (71 Lawrence Street, Suite 120, Glens Falls) is open Thursday–Saturday, 12–5 p.m. The 2nd Floor Gallery at Glens Falls City Hall (42 Ridge Street) is open Monday–Friday, 9 a.m.–4 p.m., during regular City Hall hours. Our exhibit space at the Queensbury Hotel (88 Ridge Street) is viewable during normal hotel hours. Admission is free at all locations.

North Country ARTS offers local artists exhibition opportunities, professional exposure, and a network of fellow creators. As a member, you can show your work in members-only exhibitions and juried shows like Expressions, apply for a solo show in the Betty O'Brien Gallery, take part in seasonal shows at the 2nd Floor Gallery and the Annual Photography Show and Fine Art Show at Crandall Public Library, receive our newsletter, get discounts on workshops, and — for Web Members ($60/year) — get a personal micro-site on our website to showcase your portfolio, even if you don't have your own website. Non-members can also rent wall space at the Queensbury Hotel for $20 per three-month exhibition, with sales handled through LARAC's Lapham Gallery.

With around 150 members across the North Country region, North Country ARTS regularly brings artists together at gallery openings and the Expressions juried show reception. Joining a committee — gallery/hanging, marketing, or events — is also a hands-on way to work alongside other artists year-round.

What volunteer opportunities do you have?

North Country ARTS relies on volunteers for gallery sitting, event and reception support, and committee work. Typical roles include staffing the gallery during open hours, helping set up and tear down exhibitions and receptions, serving on the marketing or newsletter committee, and helping hang or jury shows. How much does membership cost?

North Country ARTS membership starts affordably, with a Web Member tier at $60/year that includes a personal micro-site to showcase your portfolio on our website — ideal if you don't have (or want) a website of your own. A discounted rate is available for students ages 16–25. All membership levels include invitations to exhibitions and receptions, access to members-only shows, our newsletter three times a year, and workshop discounts. Is North Country ARTS a nonprofit?

Yes — North Country ARTS is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Founded in 1971 by a group of artists near Warrensburg, NY, we've spent more than 50 years providing exhibition opportunities and encouraging and promoting artists throughout the North Country of New York State. Memberships, donations, and volunteer support directly fund our galleries, exhibitions, and programs for local artists.
