Jay Antos
Artist Statement
Most of my art from early years through college revolved around graphite and colored pencil drawings. The pieces that I created were realistic in style. My background in mechanical drawing helped tremendously with my drawing technique.
I earned a BA in Fine Art from Binghamton University in 1974 and an MA in Fine Art from SUNY Albany in 1978. For 20 years I owned and operated Artisan Signs in Binghamton, NY before becoming Senior Conceptual Artist at Lockheed Martin in Owego, New York from which I retired after thirteen years.
Over the last two years, my style has taken a complete about face and I am very intrigued with the world of abstract ideas. It’s an evolution employing mixed media of acrylics, various papers, pastels, cloth, ink, whatever inspires me at the moment.
I hope you enjoy my artistic vision. Drop me an email anytime if you have questions about my art.
